How do you work, John?
I always follow certain steps when taking on a design project. This way it keeps me organized and to stay on a deadline to ensure my clients’ websites are 100% ready to go live.
My workflow
1. Preparing
2. Design
3. Development
4. Details
1. Preparing
In the first part of the project I mostly ask questions and talk with my clients about what they want. I want to get a super clear picture of what they want and need. With my new clients with no website, I give them choices of what domain they want (www.yourcompany.com). Then can I deliver a product that both parties are happy with.
2. Design
After I have a rough enough understanding of the client’s needs and wants I can start designing the first part of the website.
When it’s a big project I always start with wireframing. This is the process where I design in grey, without using colours, images and styling options. Then I share this design with my client and when they agreed I continue with the visual design. This is where I will add details and make it come to live.
3. Development
When the design is done and my client is happy with the final design I go on with installing WordPress and all the plugins that I need for the project.
Then I will start creating the pages one by one and send my client preview links along the process. This makes it easy to get feedback for me and assures my client that they get the things that they want.
4. Details
After all the pages are developed inside of WordPress I share a final preview link to my client. We will look at the result and edit any detail to make the website perfect. After a final check I will put the website live and give it the necessary optimization for Google.
What do I use?
I like to use the latest software for my projects, so I know there is nothing better to use for my clients. These are the platforms that I use on a regular basis.

What's Included?
There are many technicalities that I do to ensure that your website is cohesive and aligns with your business. See below what is included ($$ indicates extra service charge).
Questions I get often
I often get asked the same questions. I’ve put the most common questions in this section.
FAQS
Yes! I think this is one of the points that makes me stand out from other people who sell websites. Since I use the latest software it’s very easy to edit the text, images and other content on the pages. You can almost change everything if you want to or if you prefer me to at a flat service fee of $75.
I accept projects that start at $750. The final price depends on your needs and wants, the design and the functionality. If you are wanting an e-commerce website to sell your products, my starting price is $2,500 with 5 products. The number of products, extra functionalities and design elements depend on the final price. Let me know what you are looking for and I can make it happen via my contact page or send me an email at john@johnasalazar.com
You. I don’t own anything of the website. If you want I can give you full admin rights. You pay for the website and the design, so it’s your property.
The only thing that I ask is to put the website in my portfolio.
If you are wanting me to update content, perform backups and keep your website up-to-date on a weekly basis, you can find my subscription plans here.
It depends. Approximately 2-3 weeks. If you are wanting an E-Commerce website (shopping cart + bells and whistles) it can take 2-3 months. This mainly depends on the different revisions rounds that we have to go through to get a good result.
WordPress. Hands down. The reason why I prefer WordPress is not just the user-friendliness, but also the scalability for your business. When you create a website via Wix, yes it is easy to choose a template and make your site look decent, but the question is “how is it functioning behind the scenes for your site?” Another benefit of using WordPress? Pricing. Wix charges a mere $22/month just for storage and hosting your website. That is $264/year with no updates or backups! Then you have to pay extra for basic visitor analytics and content uploads. It is also harder to migrate to another hosting plan and keep your data. Give this article a read on why it is best to go with WordPress.
